Hit a couple cellar holes in my town parks this weekend. Decided to try and clear some big iron (fridge doors, car hoods, fencing) to see what lay below. Got 2 handfuls.

Only one insitu pic as I thought it was a half cent, turned out to be a larger double gilt flat button without a shank.

Sort of psyched that the Nova I found in the Fall (my only Banner) made Best Of 2017!

Good luck out there!

The relics you find never disappoint. The Buck Jones badge is the first I've seen and I think that bracelet is stellar vintage jewelry. Congrats on making the best of 2017, you made it look easy!

Very cool finds! Congrats!

Nice assortment of finds pa-dirt_nc-sand (and your research). Thanks for sharing...

Congrats on the handful of relics, and on making the Best Finds Issue.

Well done on the certificate!
Nice selection of finds, the lid is off a condiment container one would have found at a deli table.

Interesting group of finds. I know how it is to move a bunch of garbage to get to an area to sift through some more garbage to maybe find some keepers. Good hunting.

i think franco was a furniture company maybe? not sure what that hinged thing is to though.

Excellent hunt, the Buck Jones Badge is the find of the day.
Did you take any pictures of the fridge door and car hood?? lol
Congrats on your finds.

congrats on the magazine and finds!!!

Awesome finds, congrats on your Nova being recognized!:occasion14:

Thx MH! The badge range up like a dime and the bracelet a nickel... I have been skunked on the silver coins for a few weeks now, need to get on a roll like you.

Thx Pepperj! The Franco lid is about the right size for a condiment sugar cube holder. Maybe?

Thx guys! I've found silver coins about one every 10'x10' area around this foundation except the back yard as it is a bit of a trash heap. Game plan was to remove the big iron stuff and hopefully glean new virgin soil, but there was a layer of trash under the trash so mostly cherry picked shallow non ferrous items. There are definitely a bunch of silvers there, I just need to wait another decade for the iron rust bits everywhere to turn into dirt...

Hi, nice hunt and relics, i love the Glass bracelet.:icon_thumleft:

Nice hunt Thad. That's the first Buck Jones piece I've seen, in fact I never heard of him before.

Nice relic hunt, congratulations on the Best Finds! :occasion14:

Some Buck Jones history:
The original red, black and gold, 1¼x1½-inch die-cut pinback in the shape of a horseshoe dates from about 1937, when Post Grape-Nuts Flakes cereal sponsored a syndicated 15-minute radio program starring Jones, called "Hoofbeats."Among the various club premiums, the membership badge was the lure; it took just one box-top to become an official member and receive the badge. For another box-top, members would receive a photo of their cowboy hero; for 3 box-tops they got their choice of a membership ring or a Junior Sheriff badge.By the late 1930s, the Buck Jones Club sported some 5 million members.
Don......
