Hi Steve - looks to me like the owner of that piece did not want to give it up! Worked and RE-Worked.

We're going out today to walk some corn stubble :(
 

Very interesting piece. I like those that really make you have to look at them over and over to envision what went on with them during their useful life.
 

Reworked down 'til there was nothing left to rework. Might have been a case of good material that was too scarce in that area to just discard casually.

That is an odd one , is it possible that side was the last part the maker had to work on and ran into a stack and couldn’t go any further ?
 

yep thats a small one all right. Used down to the hafting area
