Unique piece from Friday's river hunt

Found this Friday morning and have been sitting on it for a couple days so as to not post "every cool shaped rock" I find. The black edge almost looks painted on, except for the tip view which appears to show it is a "vein" in the stone. Thoughts on artifact vs. rock? I'll hang up and listen...thanks! The back is relatively flat.

Flintknappers call rocks like that tabs. I have a 5 gallon bucket full I gathered off the Pedernales River to work on my flintknapping with. Looks as though that one may have been struck.

The problem one might have walking a river like the Pedernales is that there is so much knappable rock and so many modern knappers that they walk along, grab a rock, strike it and if they don't like the looks of what is inside it gets dropped. Now a arrowhead collector comes along, picks it up and wonders if they have an artifact or not.

Appreciate your thoughts Jon!
