unidentified tag

I found this tag recently in a ghost town in Texas. I googled it but was only given a website that only contained a pic. No history or what it represents was given. What does everybody think? Thanks

Hi J, I don't know much about tags, but the fact that it says good to 100 feet probably means it's an insurance or equipment guarantee for diving or mining. Cool tag.

Umm, is that photo the one you found? It appears to be the one listed on this site: http://users.zoominternet.net/~cagle/catalog.htm At any rate, it is for "IOOF" members (Independent Order of Odd Fellows), rather than meaning 100 ft. Whats on the back of it? Usually there was an id #.

Yes, that is the look on the website. The one I found is virtually identical. I have not photographed it yet. I simply wanted to get some info on the tag. I've never seen anything like it before. Just curious!

By the way, what does the "Independent Order of Odd Fellows" about? Do you have any info on them.

I don't know much about them really, but they are (or were) connected to the Mason's in some way... I know I've heard the history of it, but I guess I didn't pay attention. So here's one of many links a google search turned up: http://www.ioof-il.org/

It's a watch fob, and the thin tab at the bottom is for use as a watch case opener. Compare to this one on eBay:

As noted, the line under "Benefits" should be read as "To I. O. O. F.," not as "To 100 Feet." I.O.O.F. stands for Independent Order of Odd Fellows, a fraternal organization which offered insurance benefits to its members.

Cool tag nice find I found a token about 3 weeks ago from the I.O.O.F. Before that I new nothing about them.. Is it not great to have all the great minds on this site to help figure things out...By the way this is the token I found.
