Unidentified stone with unexplained formation

Greetings! This is my first post, so i apologize if it is a bit sloppy. This stone was found near Marathon, Texas. We cannot figure out what could have made it to have such an odd formation on the top of it. Man made? Shaped by nature? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Are you sure thats a stone and not pottery? It definitely looks man made.

I agree.....Pottery shard. Look for more pieces in the same general area.
