I think I remember seeing that same button in the mag,,east west trader or some thing like that . it is a metal detec mag. good luck

This may get me a "slap on the fingers" from the mods, but have to say it sure seems like the OP does not seem too interested, as to have not replied in some fashion ?

I actually spent some of my valueable time "trying" to help, but for what ?

Sorry you feel that way. End of the year has gotten extremely busy for me at work. I do appreciate your time trying to help ID

Understood, everybody busy esp. this time of year. I guess I said that because I may be a bit different in that if it were my find I'd have to check in quite often to see if I got the ID. I also didn't mean to be rude, just "straight talk"

I guess a bit surprised also that someone else hasn't IDed it yet. Surely someone here knows ?

Not seen that type/style of anchor except similar on blazer buttons, is it a steel back?

Its not British, not US, if its a foriegn one, not one I'm familar with.

Yes it has a steel back. Most of my initial search turned up just the navy buttons with eagles. I figured that this could possibly just be civilian peacoat button or something. Everything around it was pretty old though...

Being a steelback & a non-military looking anchor, it must be a civilian blazer button, early 1900s at best.
