Thought I got skunked until I double checked my flakes. It looks unfinished but I don’t see any obvious reasons to abandon it, maybe it was good enough to serve it’s purpose. Either way it’s interesting to find a point in this state. Pretty sure it was going to be a jug hill or washita ( Madison/Cahokia) in other regions. I’ve found several small triangles in that site

It was small and white making the pictures tricky but it’s not broken it’s a flake they started working around the edges but never finished. I’m not sure why. it wouldn’t have taken much more time to work it around. Maybe it was good enough to serve it’s purpose, maybe they had to leave in a hurry, maybe they dropped it on the ground and couldn’t find it. I kind of like it not being finished it’s a peek into how they were making the others.

I'm with antmike. These things weren't made to be pretty, they were made to do a job.

I did notice the tip is a bit awl ish but it wouldn’t poke very far, maybe it was a hole starter. I duno but it’s fun to speculate.

Realized I don’t have anything for scale

Ha you are correct I guess I was thinking more of a punch to make big holes.
