While researching my childhood home I was looking in my attic and came across this item:

This bank was directly next door to our home, which was the upstairs of the building referred to in the hand written note found inside the book. My folks owned the building during the 50's, and operated it as the Petersburg Food Market, and my dad was the bank VP during hat time. probably how he came to have the booklet. Hard to believe the complete set of needles survived intact and in pretty good condition, for 109 years.

W😲W .. That is fantastic! What a great treasure!

The note appears to be written on the back of a bank check. Bank was built in 1903. The start date of the store, 1896, is well documented. In the photo it says "Krutz Bros. store". I noticed that E.T. Krutz was the bank president. The store was known by several names over the years, and maybe that is the reason for the Gordon Bros. name being used. It was Krutz Bros., Gordon's Hall, Petersburg Opera House, The Ideal Theater. Big auditorium and stage up stairs. Bands came up to play when a riverboat was docked in town, movies shown. Busy place.
