Congrats on the nice find!

Great find and investigation! You really went above and beyond.

And of course, welcome to TNet!

I'd say you were a treasure hunter long before you joined our little group here. Fill in some blanks about you!

Sorry. First post. Lol
Found in Punta Gorda florida. When I got home I posted on a local Facebook page. Small town and everyone went crazy over it. Within 24 hrs we figured out who it was. Found out he’d passed in 94. Within another 24 hrs I was email with his granddaughter and daughter. Planning to meet up in next few weeks since there up in N florida and GA now. Can’t wait to meet and return to the oldest son who’s now almost 70. Links to Facebook group below. So cool

Had links to Facebook maybe this sight doesn’t like that.

A whole lot of us here refuse to do the Facebook thing, me included.

Facebook = tell the whole world everything about you as a permanent record accessed by the entire world.

NOT!!!!!

I agree with this statement 100 %

Hi gage. Welcome to tnet from Niagara Falls. That’s a nice find for sure and your research paid off by finding the owner. Congrats!

Thanks.

Congrats gage and welcome from MI.

I third that, I have enough trouble knowing I have information on this web site lol

Great job on the return.

Sounds like you identified the owner. But a 1938 graduate would be about 98 years old now. Is he still alive? Did you return it to him or his family? Your post is lacking some important details.

The gov't agency for which I worked for 32 years required employees to provide their social media passwords. Naturally I kept as clean an online presence as possible, especially after meeting a new guy who told me "My job is to read all your emails"; when I chuckled at that remark, he said he was serious but that I should not worry because I had no social media presence. I even waited until retirement to join tnet!

Congrats on the nice find!

Beautiful ring and also hope to read more about its recovery.

Well, rest assured it did not stop with retirement, and it never will. This is the information age! I was on-line in '83, and back then hacking was the norm. We all did it.

All that information is permanent. I went from college to college digging up stuff. And it led to my internet addiction, the things I stumbled into.

Yes, I say too much on here about me and the things I see, but I'm retired, pushing 70 now on July 4th, and I really don't care anymore - except for my "reservations".

Stay safe out there and mind what you post.

The feeling you get finding something like that is great. The feeling you get returning it to its owner is much greater. Kudos to you for your obvious admirable character.

That's very nice you went the extra mile to locate the family.

I dont do facebook or twitter, never will. Besides nobody besides my wife gives one hoot what I am doing.

gage, A Big Welcome to You to the Tnet forum from Georgia. Congrat's to you on the find and future return of the class ring. You are doing well with the AT PRO and are a goodwill ambassador to the hobby for returning the ring to this owners family. Well Done, and again Welcome. You will enjoy the forum here.
