undo brasso damage

My dad bought a sword hilt found by an old timer, he didn't know what he was doing when he found it plowing and cleaned it with brasso.

It looks like crap, are there any tips to get some patina or tarnish back on this thing to make it look old again.

Bury it back in the ground and dig it up in a hundred years or so. Other than that you are sol.
