Hi all,
I've been watching a number of YouTube videos about geology to try to get some basics under my belt. Of course, some are better than others. I came across a guy who works (or did at the time of the videos) at the Colorado School of Mines. One of his early videos is particularly useful since it clearly explains the U.S. Public Land Survey System. He also tells about how the information is presented on topo maps. The video is just over 7 minutes long so he doesn't waste time on fluff. If you are filing claims, this information might be useful to you.
I don't have any association with this with the creator or his website, but I'm really liking his geology series of videos.
