Found a picture on Pinterest of one listing it as oil can but no other info.

Its an antique Chinese brass opium pipe

Thanks everyone for the help, that's pretty crazy. I cleaned some of the side there is some kind of etch work on it. I did find it on pinterest as an oil can and an opium pipe also, after all of your help. I guess in some ways an opium pipe is in a sense an oil can .Im wondering if I should clean it or not its very dirty.Thanks again everyone.
