hi everyone peppercorn tree are common round here and there are several different types.no native but people seem to dump a lot of olds stuff under them.bit like out of site out of mind.near the timber yard i have been working for a while. so i went for a bit of a dig and i didn,t use the m.d.got three nice bottles and silver cap and a silver sixpence.and there few other relics for the bin i think but will post as a point of interest.

                    bottle 1 is a TRADE MARK IONA  CROWN CHEMICALS MELB
                                      1920S

                    bottle 2 is a ROGER @ GALLET  PARIS  1890S

                    bottle 3 is unkown about 1900

                    australian silver sixpence  1926

                    silver lid  WELCOME CHEMICAL WORKS over 270 awards and the age unknown

hi a.p sure do use minlabs minelab sd 2000 with upgrade and a minelab sovereign xs2 pro and got a goldspear too.brought them second hand from the local trading post.i feel like i have been hit by a truck from digging and frozen to the bone too.having coffee and beef and cheese sandwich at the moment.yum yum

Another group of great finds tinpan. I know what you mean about coming back from a hunt all tired and beat up. Been there many many times. But that's okay it keeps me in shape.

Nice bottles and finds . One thing I noticed with alot of your finds,the dirt seems to be so black...is it all like that over there? be careful digging old chemical bottles....dont want to see your noggin addled or anything! :)
 

HI GYPSY the dirt is so black from these dumps because of fire and thats what is done for health reasons and i wish they didn,t as fire destroys a lot of the larger bottles and relics :( :( :(. most of the relics i recover are at the edge of the dump and most things in the middle totally destroyed.about 1 in 5 is not burnt thats a bonus ;D ;D ;D.
