We had a great tide here in NY yesterday so I got out into the water for over 3 hours and these are two of the best finds. The Elephant is a metal Cracker Jack possibly from the late 20's early 30's, its in excellent condition considering where it came from. The ring is 5.9gr 14k, there is an engraving inside that says "May 10 1922". I have a few of these but the diamond is usually missing or falls out when I clean it, this one is solid. The initials are ZF.
Not shown includes an assortment of sinkers, about 5 wheat pennies, a buffalo nickel, some brass hinges, screws and trash.
I saw the first dolphins for the season about a half mile out and a seal only 200-300 feet away for most of the hunt, the seal would check me out then go down to get a clam real fast and come back up.
I hope all the hunts are that good.

Good find. You may call that ring ugly but me, I have never found gold that I didn't think was beautiful.

I've found a few of these through the years when I found the first one I was told it was from a period of art that was actually called "Ugly", so I've always referred to them as Ugly rings. I could be wrong, I never researched that name, but hey...I have better looking rings that must be from the "Pretty" period.

Those are a nice couple of finds. I like the personalized touch with the date inscribed inside the ring.

That's a cool looking Gold! More like the designs from the early 1900's also...think these are from the 20's..

Just curious, what would a ring like that sell for?

Not sure but its 5.9gr of 14 so about $150-175 is a start.

here is one I found yrs ago - its a mermaid wrapped around with her tail coming around the right side

I had to stare at it for awhile but I see the mermaid now, very nice. I don't get the "Tiger" on mine though. Is that just a design name?

It could be a Navy ring, look at the tail of the plane. VA-65.jpg

Congrats on the Gold.
The metal Cracker Jack prizes were discontinued due to law suits. Let them choke on paper,, lol.
