Hello!

I dug this yesterday downtown Eugene Oregon not too far from the University of Oregon. I didn't really notice it until today when I was cleaning out my treasure pouch. I remember digging it but I didn't look at the front side ~ I just assumed it was a piece of scrap copper. I always save my scrap copper & brass for my good buddy Ron. . . . . after a few months of saving it up he will take it in to sell it for scrap, and then we go out for a burger and a beer!

What exactly is this ~ a button of some sort? How old is it? What years did they issue it?

U.S. NAVAL RESERVE HONORABLE DISCHARGE

I pictured it next to a 1943 Mercury Dime (also dug yesterday) for comparison purposes.

I got was honorably discharged from the inactive reserve in the 60's. Got a paper saying so, but no pin, so the pin must have been for the active reserve.
