This looks like a buckle or part of a buckle or clasp and has decorative markings on one side. I'm no sure but it has a 1700s look to it. It was found at a coastal site, along a stone wall, in Connecticut. I was tired of beach hunting and moved inland a bit.

Any information on the type, purpose, style, age, etc. would be appreciated.
Thanks for Looking!
Nick

Thanks, Rouge Relic Hunter! I know what you mean. It almost looks like a clasp or latch for a fancy book or something, but the slot looks like leather or fabric could have been drawn thru it?

Looks like half of a sash buckle, the keeper portion, missing the other half. Very cool design and Def has some old age.

That looks hand made, not cast, on the back at the right side it looks like it was drilled so it could be cut out...Interesting.:icon_scratch: possibly some type of slide type buckle.

Thanks, villagenut! It definitely looks old and like half of whatever it is.

I agree, Silver Searcher. It has a pleasantly uneven look to it.
Suspender related piece? Cool design, it's a keeper
Thanks, highnam!
