TxRangerDC: A Texan's Gold Adventures

So I've decided to start documenting my prospecting adventures. As I am becoming more active in the sport it would be nice to have a journal to reference back to of methods and places visited. Since starting out a year ago, I have purchased a Wolfe Sluice and made a miller table, panned a little in Clear Creek and the S Platte. Questions are always welcome as well as ideas to improve my chances of feeding the gold bug.

That miller table is great, looks like it works really well! Nice pictures and very pretty gold!

Thanks Jesse! To clarify location, I found this gold here in Colorado Kiddo. I've been living here for 1.5 years now in Westminster, Co. The only gold I know of to find in Texas are the pieces of eight that wash up on the beaches of Padre Island.

Last weekend I had the chance to get out and participate a little in Panning on the Platte at Grant Frontier Park. I would like to thank Kevin for inviting me, and say it was a pleasure to meet Red and Don of Gold Unlimited (HOME - gold-unlimited) Thank you guys for the tips on setting my sluice to perform better. I spent most of the day at the park, but had little recovery (the big pieces in the photo are courtesy of Don testing my sluice.) I then went a few miles down stream to my usual local and had better luck in just an hour of digging.10172576_10154619359105230_5922597682980251049_n.jpg10378946_10154619361990230_7698250378241404673_n.jpg10612969_10154619367550230_7624726336672305599_n.jpg10616102_10154619368145230_3853341418822190106_n.jpg10671288_10154619359520230_3234233505271537640_n.jpg

LoL! Nice, that has to be the most worked spot in Colorado. But yet gold comes out every time. Love that park!

Thanks for coming out Tex! Glad the second site did right by you. My gold from GFP was pretty good even tho I spent most of the day with the kids and their families. That hole Don started sure produced!
