I found these two objects I think are wagon hubs, but I suppose they could be old car hubs? I found both a couple months ago. One was buried deep underground, and the other was submerged in my creek. I am not sure what they are now. Suggestions would be appreciated! 8A008248-AF2B-47F9-B8B0-2065E87157EB.jpeg8F1E3E97-3636-4FB3-BC66-A48383EF0643.jpeg

Yeah, the size of dirt covered one now really makes me think it came from an older car. The other one is much larger than the dirtier one. Initially I thought both might of been from wagons, due to the agrarian area they were in. Though I am not sure, thanks for the response!

I don't see two different type of hubs. What you do have in both the photo's is the hub to an old wooden wheel from a horse drawn buggy or wagon. The slots around the center is where the wooden spokes would have been.

Thanks for all the replies, I was initially thinking they came from wagons but I wasn’t sure. I guess logically since the property was an old farm, they’d be from wagons.

If they're automotive they'll have bearing races inside. Wagon and buggy wheels were metal to metal with lots of heavy grease. Oddly enough the one found in the creek might have been left there to swell and tighten the spokes. The rim may have washed away after the wood rotted.

Old digger nailed it. It is conceivably possible they were used in autos, but that would date them before 1910 or so. I would say wagon or buggy wheel hubs.
