I hit up two local parks in hopes of picking up a silver, but with my luck, only scored five wheats and clad. I began each park hunting methodically and intentionally skipping shallow stuff for deepies. I don't know what the dilly is, but I can find wheats like no one's business but the silver mostly eludes me. There is no shortage of coin signals 5-8 inches deep, but only a handful ended up being wheaties, with the rest being early clad dimes and pennies. I have only scored one silver dime from a public park this whole year. Compared with a lot of people, that's not good. Next to Goio, that's embarrassing.
Out of frustration, I began picking up all dime and quarter signals. If I couldn't score a silver or two, at least I'll have some clad to add to the heap. I ended up with 59 coins, $6.50 in clad, if the sliced-and-diced quarter isn't included. I also found a 1983 Chuck-E-Cheese token.
Ahh, but to be outdoors on a beautiful day like today; the autumn foliage screaming gold, the crisp air, and cool breeze. Perfect soil conditions for digging, too. No regrets.
Have a good one, guys.
