I found this CS 3" Marshall shell January 31 and exactly one week later found this half of a brass mold for casting counterfeit 8 reales! Here's also a link to my video for the shell!

oh wow, that mold is freakin awesome!!!

Wow, that counterfeit mould is neat. I am wondering what others will say.

Yeah it was an awesome find! I spoke with buckleboy when I found it and he was really excited to see it! I'm sure when he see's the post he will chime in on it.

That counterfeiters mold kicks butt, I'd rather find that rarity than a real 8 reale! Nice shell too!

BTW, good ole Alexandria I stayed there a few weeks when I was in the Army. Much better place then Fort Puke. lol.

Very cool stuff.

That is a great piece of Treasure you have brought up from the past. Well Done!

You don't find one of those everyday! Nice sore and save!

That mould is an extremely rare historic find - big congrats!

Thanks Crusader! I haven't been able to find another example like it during my research. I know they exist but just haven't been able to find one!

Nice digs. If its old and cool or valuable I wanna find it. I guess this saying works for you. Good job.

wow, really awesome find, to actually find a mold like that, the only thing nicer would have been to find a few of their products with it

Is that two pictures of one half or one picture of both halves of the mold? If you have both halves I think I'd be melting down some lead and trying it out, I know I'd probably ruin it but I don't think I could resist....awesome find.

That coin mould is one of the coolest finds I've seen posted in recent months. What a great historical piece. Think its possible to find the missing half?

Wow. That is killer find. Congrats! At some point a long time ago, some scallywags used that to make counterfeit coins... that is just awesome. GL&HH.
