Maybe instead of the peanut field I should call it the Vnut field. Two more V nickels this evening. I almost didn't go after Christmas shopping all day with the wife. Glad I did. Didn't git out there till 4 o'clock but found the 1898 and 1899 only about 50 feet from the truck and just a few feet apart.

Sweet Diggin! Much better than I did at the beach today (can you say SHUTOUT?), but tomorrow is another day! Congrats on some really nice finds.

Hey Digginfla. nice finds. It seems like the soil in Fla. really preserves coins well. Did you find them with your x-50. Can you tell me what numbers(s) pop up when you hit the v nickel. On my machine a Jefferson nickel will hit 12, 16, 24, 28. It reads about the same on a pull tab. So I have dug 7 nickels in 4 months and $40.00 worth of dimes and quarters.

Hi Damz68, I didn't find those with the X-terra. But I have found them with the X-terra they came in around 12 but Ive seen the ID bounce up as high as 18. They basically hit just like modern nickels. I also have found a shield nickel at that site and it to hit like a modern nickel. One of the two I found tonight was sitting with half a 22 bullet and only ID'ed like a nickel one way. With the X- terra if it comes in 9 or higher I dig it. Most of the small brass buttons Ive found come in around 9. I only put in 50 or 60 hours with the X-terra so I'm still learning my self. I can tell you that the 5x10 18.75 coil has much better separation if your hunting in a trashy site. If you don't have one its worth the 99.00. HH

I live just south of Clearwater (Belleair Bluffs), I have hunted C-water Beach only once (just got my Tiger Shark), I usually hunt IRB (Indians Rock Beach) but I will be doing Clearwater a lot more with the water machine. Next time you are coming down drop me a line and maybe we can meet at Skyline Chili (Cincy style :)) or something. I am going to St Augustine on Fri, maybe the East Coast will be kinder to me ;)
