I went back to the local civil war camp today for a couple hours. Hadn't been there too long and was hunting along the edge of the woods which is the property line between the property I had permission to detect and a neighbor. This drew the attention of the neighbor and he came to see what I was doing. :icon_scratch: After talking with him for a few minutes and assuring him I had permission to hunt were I was at, he out of the blue tells me that I can hunt on his lot as well! :headbang: However, if I found a million dollars I would have to give it to him. :laughing7: No more briar patch for me today! Spent about an hour on his property before I had to leave. Got my best finds there. Two Louisville and Nashville RR boxcar lead seals! Not civil war, but cool nonetheless. The L&N RR ran by the property from 1882 till 1908 when they ran a new double track about 2 miles away.

I wish our metal detectors could discriminate out nosy busybodies. Science still has some work to do!

Those lead seals sure are interesting, and they become even more interesting as you build a collection of them to compare and contrast against one another. Your specimens have a nice patina, and the railroad association makes them a little special in my opinion.

Cool finds. Great work. The lead seals are about quarter size?

PERFECT timing brother!!! I'm diggin the seals!!! CONGRATZ.....

Very cool lead seals........
Hope it is an open invitation to hunt that site..........good luck!!

I dont know what type of seals are, but is cool

Love the old railroad items! The ones I've found through the years are among my favorite finds. Congrats.
