Re: two items from old farm..........

The stick thing looks like something textile related, like for spinning or weaving :-\

it looks like wood but it is clearly not, when your holding it in your hand it is def bone or plastic, when I tap it on the table it sounds like bone

Re: two items from old farm..........

The bone (graining looks like bone) item is most likely what has already been said a hair item. The other oriental item appears to be a compact cover, (face powder, rouge). It original most likely had a mirror and of course the rest of the case.

I think the "coin" is the tongue portion of a two-piece buckle. :)

Could your stick item be an ivory toothpick?

very possible as it does have a sharp point

ok here is an updated picture, I do not think it is a hairpiece, look at the size of it beside the ruler. I think the hairpiece was much longer. It has a fairly sharp point as well, the toothpick idea is a possibility

it looks like it may be silver plated, and brass or copper underneath, on the back the plating is worn off in places where u can see the underlying metal which looks like brass or copper

goes4ever, buckles would really have to see the back to confirm whether or not it is part of a two piece buckle with the tab hook broken off. Look for small trace of grey solder on the back, either in the middle to hold a single flat loop, or two small dots to hold a wire loop.

Great! Then if everyone agrees the first thing is a fid (matching the one in the link) and the second is half a buckle you've got an I.D..
