Two handed pecking stone?

I found this rock in a roughly plowed field. The field is high and dry. I was wondering if the marks on the one side is from pecking? I could not find a reference to whether NAs used two handed stone tools or not? I would like to ask the experts their thoughts. Thank you.

Sorry, just a natural rock.

Thank you. I thought that the marks on photo 2nd on left were from pecking.

That could have resulted from battering, but normally would not expect a hand held hammerstone to have that size or shape. I'd probably have to examine that area that resembles battering in hand to understand what I'm really looking at and what that particular surface represents. It might very well be a type of erosion rather then battering.

I know it isn't a traditional hammerstone. I was just wondering if the area on the stone looked like it was caused by rock on rock concussion. The field I search I have personally found NA items. I want to learn what to look for, with my own eye.

No sign of being used. Go to bookstore and look for some books on hard stone artifacts, Lat Hothem has written some good ones.
