Two "Firsts"
Hi All,
My friend had knee surgery last week and has been cooped up for over a week. Not one to be immobile, he's been itching just to get out of the house. He asked me to take him out MD'ing, just so he could walk a little with me.
We went to a gathering area in a small nearby RI town, and after not finding anything of note for an hour or so, I got a signal that rang in nicely, but was jumping around due to me being close to the power lines on the street. Since I wasn't finding anything, I dug. After I took out the plug and stuck in the X1- I knew there was something good down there. Moved a little soil and into the hole fell a little beauty- my first Half Dime- an 1839 Seated.
Not more than 8 feet from that spot and less than 5 minutes- same type of signal. I think, no way! Down about the same depth- pull out some dirt and Bingo! Another small piece of silver. This time it was an 1830 Capped Half Dime! Nice Fine detail, but sadly it's bent and holed.
That was it for the finds for the day, but I couldn't have been happier.
HH,
Jeff
