A brief compilation of two digs same spot. From left to right, not sure if this is an old belt end. Then a copper "what's it? (ideas anyone??.) Next a bracelet that was found in two parts-gives a hint of being silver.
This is a yard my teenage son is tending to raking leaves and such. He hasn't shown much interest in MDing, but yesterday couldn't resist the ringing, so was at my side for a good while. At least in time to see this silver chain come out of the ground, followed by the standing liberty. I think he has some interest now. Then came the musket ball, followed by the MINIE. The three ringer has been pulled and shows clear signs of the GRAB at the tip-pics don't do justice.
Some details of the belt end, copper thingy, and quarter.
The axe has been in cider vinegar then lightly wheeled to bring out the forging grain. I'll work a little more then preserve with a coat of penetrol.
I think the Boy will do this again.
Thanks
