Had pretty good day yesterday and an even better day today! A change of wind and a bit of stormy weather did some good.
Yesterday I pulled a silver bracelet, mercury dime (no date) and a button as well as some clad ($3.20) and a handful of bullets (21).
Today the sand had come back in some and the target area was not as wide as the previous day but just as densely packed. Today was mega bullet day of all days.......99 of those $$#%%&*& things, .50 cal and smaller but mostly smaller. As much as I'd like to pass em all up, ya just can't, they all sound close enough to coins and silver when you hit 'em so......i just kept digging hoping to find better stuff mixed in. There was one spot where they were coming out 2-3 at a time in every scoop. I started dumping the sand right next to the water and letting the wash clean em off so I could pick em up. Conveniently (Not!) they fit right through the scoop holes but not the slits in the back end of the 920iX which made recovery a bit easier but it was still a pain in the a**. I could have dug more but the tide saved me and sent me home.
The pendant thingy looks like it was in the drink for a while. Not sure how old it is but it's cast and looks like plated copper. Clad count was $2.62.
The gold ring was hiding in and amongst the crap and was only about 2 inches down. Sounded like a penny/bullet so I was surprised when I saw what it was, but happy as hell since it's been a little while since I hit gold. 14k 4.5 grams, gold ring #4 for this year and if anyone needs bullets, give me a call!
