These two items were found at beach locations by different people and different times.
I believe both are made of brass. The "arrow" looking thing is approx. 5" long. The "spike"
is about 6 1/2" long. Spike looks like the head has been struck with a hammer. Your help
on one or both is greatly appreciated. Thanks

One item has been identified as a swordfish Dart Will be reposting the other. Thanks

The first item is cool. I believe another like it was found but I cant find the old thread. I think it was shot from a spear gun. I think I see the hole in the side.

Thanks for the responses. Dig-m-Deep looks like you hit the nail on the head with that harpoon tip. Thanks. Wish they didnt block out that selling price though. lol

Thanks BigCypress. I don't think I'll be making a belt buckle any time soon. But it might find it's way on to some kind of wall mount. Maybe I should mark this post solved and start another for that other "harpoony" thing.

cool ! the small one looks ornamental, but the long one looks like the real deal. Good finds. All I find at the beach is nails & fish hooks,,

I don't want to be a wet blanket, but the harpoon on the auction was 48 inches long, which would make sense. Subject is 6 1/2 inches. Doesn't make sense. Also, what makes sense, is that it needs an "attaching point" someplace becuase the wood body of the harpoon wouldn't bear the weight of a "Nantucket Sleigh Ride". You would want the rope attached to what is going to stay in the whale. And that point of attachment has to be very deep to get a good bite. Not that I have ever harpooned a whale, or even studied a harpoon close up. Just a few pictures.
