Armed with my Excal 2, I went for a quick 2 hour beach hunt this morning after work. I thought I would be hunting the dry sand so I decided to leave my Stealth 720i at home. Big mistake! Upon arriving at the beach I saw that this was prime conditions to work the waist deep water. The only problem was that the tide was rising along with the surf and my foot and a half long dry sand scoop was going to have a hard time. I ended up using my feet and did the "twist" to get my feet into the sand and felt with my toes for targets. If I couldn't feel it, I would use the sides of my feet like a shovel and scoop out the sand while standing in the hole to prevent it from refilling. Once I got it out I would use my scoop to snatch it up. Hard work and it took a lot of time, but you got to do with what you got. It payed off when 15 min into the hunt I hit my 6.5 g 14k wedding ring. I thought this was a fun hunt, but when I got home I found a box waiting for me. My CJC and Gary Drayton books!! Gonna be a late night reading. HH
