Found buried together with military material and bullets. But I can’t find any info about the army division which it symbolizes

What part of the world was it found in?

Is that a face in the right wing?

I think it has something to do with motorcycles.

Germany used that emblem for their railroads from the 1870's through at least WW1. This is a 25th anniversary mount for a railroader. Gary

The wheel is an iron wheel.

The wheel is an iron wheel.

It is similar to early (pre-Nazi) Reichsbahn emblems. TW&W Paris made uniform buttons for many different countries and armies around the turn of the 20th C.

That's what I thought it was at first, but I can't find a match yet

Were these relics found in Northern Greece? Perhaps near the border of Bulgaria?

Interesting... More research shows that King Constantine 1 of Greece was married to the sister of Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany.

Although Greece remained neutral, Constantine was sympathetic to the German cause early in WWI, so it would not be unusual for German soldiers to be in Greece during that time.

In 1917, after Allied troops landed in Greece (disregarding neutrality), Constantine abdicated the throne to his second son and Greece joined the Allies against Germany - so any German soldiers in the country would have gotten out as fast as they could... possibly dumping their equipment and uniforms to aid in the escape.

Still researching... Will you be more specific about the location of the finds? Maybe name the closest city or town?

I would be interested in seeing the masks, the head stamps on the bullets and the weapon parts to see where they came from....

If they were found near the eastern coastal areas, they may possibly have come from POW's from Gallipoli. There was at least one German Pioneer company and a number of German machine gun crews there, and while I can't find an exact number it seems around 500 Germans were taken prisoner in the area, a mix of soldiers and sailors. It seems they were shipped to a POW camp in India by the British, but it's likely they were held for at least a short time in Greece before being moved and you may have found a holding area.
