Here I go again! every month its a new thing with me. Not satified with just metal detecting, meteorite hunting, hard rocking, etc.
Now I want to go out looking for turquoise in the southern haft of Nevada. (I live in Pahrump) On an internet search, have found
dozens of old small digging site where turquoise has been found. Mostly small 'mom & pop' operations.
Am seeking a hunting partner who may have/or not, more information/experince on this type of stone hunting !!!!8-)

If you have the budget, I suggest you spend a day with the Otteson's in Tonopah. A couple years ago it was 50 bucks for pay to play at their diggings. Very
nice and knowledgeable turquoise miners. They have a website full of info too.

That's a shame, do you guys think they break them up into smaller crystals or have ways to move them? It seems like with Mindat and scientists everywhere rare big stuff would get flagged it doesn't seem like a huge community of dealers and people that know their stuff. Makes me think someone just wanted it for their own collection maybe not even knowing about it.
