Turned a skunky box of halves into 37 40%ers and 18 90 %ers!

While dumping the skunks, I topped off the bag in the machine and they let me buy it. This bag had 1 1952 Franklin, 3 1964's and 12 40%ers. So I decided to drive over to the next branch and do the same thing. That bag had 3 1964's and 1 '63 Franklin as well as 1 40%er. It was getting late and I didn't have time to do the same that day, so I waited until the next day to go to two more branches, fill and buy. The third bag had 1 more '63 Franklin and 6 1964's as well as 2 40%ers. The next bag had 3 '64's and 5 67's (one looked UNC, the rest were black and gross looking). Finally, on my 5th bag I didn't get any 90%ers but I did get 16 40%ers and 1 more from a tellers tray.

so after $5,500.50 searched this week, I managed a nice little haul of 37 40% and 18 90% silvers. Also managed 9 silver dimes from a whole mess of CWR (lost track of how much, but a lot searched), one silver Washington quarter that my fiance got in change, and my '52 Franklin and '46 Quarter I found while MD'ing on Saturday. Also found in the bags were several modern British 50 pence coins, 1 good for 1 beer token, 1 friendship token, 1 kiss token and 1 pull tab.

One of the ladies while changing over one of the bags also let me have the crap in the debris cup which turned out to be not crap at all. Other than the usual pocket lint, cigarette butt and pot seeds I managed to score 1 14k gold earning (.95gram), 1 broken 10k gold earing (.6 gram), one 1.9ct CZ with 10K gold mount, and the coup-de-gras was a 14k white gold broken earning with 9 real diamonds, (4 tiny ones in each corner, 4 emerald cut ones next to those and one round cut in the middle. None of the stones are large, the biggest is the round cut in the middle, and that is at best 1/8ct. I will load pics of the jewelry and coins tonight.

Thanks. It used to be a common practice of mine when I was doing much heavier volume. Eventually I was just going through my own dumps too much. I haven't been doing any real volume lately, which gave the bags a nice long time to refill with other people's coins. I still have 4 more branches with machines to hit, but I dumped my halves at a TD because I needed the cash for an unexpected bill (had to buy a new oil tank for the house, ouch...) So I will have to save up some more halves before I dump to fill again. If anyone in Western MA wants to buy the bags the bags I haven't got to yet, I'll let you know which branches to go to to avoid my dumps, since I will not be able to fill them for a while myself. I'd rather one of you get them before they are sent out to be sorted.

Got a PM from another W. Mass CRH. I gave him the details on the branches I have not bought the bags from, so I'm not going to list them on this post so he has a chance to get them! First come-first serve :icon_thumleft:

Great finds and great strategy with the bags! You are a great guy - hopefully the person you shared your insider information with tips you well! :icon_sunny:
