Tumbler needed....

If no one on TNET has one you might want to try craigslist or even Harbor Freight . I would recommend a local mine store but when you can get them from hf for under $30 verses the $50 they charge. They should also carry the grit you will need. I know mine does but I have learned not each store carries what the other does. You might luck up on craigs since there are quite a few rockhounds in GA.

Someone else on the site converted an old printer into a tumbler, sorry I don't have details.

if you think you'll want to stay with the hobby of rock tumbling, invest in a quality name brand. the harbor freight ones I bought new used belts up like crazy until the pulley split in half. get a used model 3-a lortone. parts are available and will run 7 days a week for years as long as you oil the bearings occasionally. be carefull, it can be addictive and you'll graduate to more tumblers and bigger ones.

In fact its still like new...never been out of the box...

So much for good intentions and all that rot...:laughing7:

I use the smaller (3 pound) HF tumbler, with aquarium gravel, not grit. Never had a problem with it. Worth the $30 I paid for it. I tend to use it 1-2x per month to clean coins found while metal detecting.
