Well I'm not much of a jewelry hunter, but I really wanted to get a piece of gold before the year's end. So, I hit two county park lake turf areas last weekend, and on Christmas eve, and out of three 2-hr hunts, I dug a few, half .925, half junk. And one tiny 14K pendant, that I eyeballed, so it really doesn't count lol.

I really had to work the pulltabs and couldn't believe when I squeaked out the Barber dime about 10 feet from the shoreline.

I also dug two pennies that were stuck together, and tossed them into the tumbler with about 20 wheats that I also dug on the lake. Imagine my surprise when I pulled them out, still stuck together. An 1880 IH stuck to an 1858 flying eagle! Really toasty and it was stuck face-in, the only thing that saved it.

Are you kidding me? An IH and FE sandwich?? Never heard the like. Very cool assortment of finds.

Nice finds................still waiting on my first Barber of any kind!!

Really nice haul.
The Flying Eagle is a bucket lister for me.
Congrats on a sweet hunt.

Heck yes the pendant counts as your gold find! What a great set of hunts with cool prizes, congrats. Sub 8-)

Great stuff! Awesome job pulling that Flying Eagle! It looks much better then the ones I have found. Congrats

That is awesome, getting a FE and not knowing it. Last summer I was cleaning wheats or so I thought, ended up finding an indian in the bunch from the day's hunt. You sure did score in the bling and old coin departments. The FE still eludes my coil.
