Well I'm not much of a jewelry hunter, but I really wanted to get a piece of gold before the year's end. So, I hit two county park lake turf areas last weekend, and on Christmas eve, and out of three 2-hr hunts, I dug a few, half .925, half junk. And one tiny 14K pendant, that I eyeballed, so it really doesn't count lol.
I really had to work the pulltabs and couldn't believe when I squeaked out the Barber dime about 10 feet from the shoreline.
I also dug two pennies that were stuck together, and tossed them into the tumbler with about 20 wheats that I also dug on the lake. Imagine my surprise when I pulled them out, still stuck together. An 1880 IH stuck to an 1858 flying eagle! Really toasty and it was stuck face-in, the only thing that saved it.
