Tuesdays Finds

those are great ones.

Does Gun open already? I know bow was open. Man this season has flown. Get on some orange and keep hunting. Nice finds sir.

How do you display or catalog your artifacts Americus?

Nice! Looks like you also find a few of those broken and not so well worked points. (Like my last post)

Great find and deer season does slow folks down but it want last to long, it goes to the end of January here. Cuts in on my artifact hunting but I do a lot of deer hunting.

I do put on orange and hunt during rifle season, but not nearly as often as I normally hunt. In one field I have permission to hunt, the hunters have to put a pin in the field they are hunting, so I feel comfortable hunting it. In other fields I only go Monday - Thursday between 11:00 - 3:00. I don't go in October or the week of Thanksgiving. Do any of you hunters have any other suggestions of things I should be aware of?

I have some artifacts in frames but I have far more artifacts than I have frames for so I keep those in boxes with the year's date on them. I put each artifact in a snack bag with a small piece of paper that has where the artifact was found and what date it was found.

Deer season in south Georgia lasts from about the second week in October until the second week in January. For me it is an eternity.

Just be sure not to make the hunters mad, it might pay to talk with most of them about what you are doing. I lease land then set up a hunting club and sell memberships that range from $1200 to $3000 per person depending on the acreage of the land and what all it can offer. Just saying that most land owners make good money off of hunting rights, so they will always stick to the hunters side. As for frames , at Walmart you can get a flag frame for $15 and it makes a real cool artifact frame.
