Well today didn't go according to plan.

Bank #1:
1 - $50 bag of pennies
1 - $1000 bag of quarters (on a whim)

Bank #2:
They had 2 bags of pennies, but they weren't sealed so the teller wasn't sure if she could sell them. Might get them tomorrow...we'll see.

Bank #3:
They ran out of canvas bags, so they transferred everything to he plastic type bags and prepared them for shipment which means they won't sell them to me.... :P

Well since I still had a few minutes before closing time I stopped by another bank close by and picked up a box of nickels.

With a little help from my kids, went through the nickels already..nothing grand, mainly common dates.
1 - 1938
1 - 1943-P War Nickel
21 other pre-1960 Jefferson (1940(2), 1941(3), 1946(2), 1946-D, 1948, 1948-D, 1953, 1954, 1954-D, 1955-D, 1957-D, 1958-D(4), 1959-D(2))

2 Canadian (1965, 1983)

Finished the bag of quarters last night but was too tired to post.

Ended up with
1 - 1963-D

1 Canadian (1978)

Seems to be about right. I've only done 3 boxes of quarters. My results were.

box 1 one silver
box 2 broadstruck New Hampshire
box 3 one silver

I've been holding off box 4 fearing a skunk

BTW Do you live anywhere near where the bridge colapsed? My father in law is a Over the road truck driver and crossed the bridge the Monday before it happened!

I used to live a few blocks from it when I went to college, but I now live about 30-40 minutes away and rarely cross(ed) it.

Just finished the bag of pennies

10 wheat pennies (1937, 1945-S, 1946-D, 1953-D(2), 1955-D(2), 1957-D(2), 1958-D)

20 Canadian (1945, 1955, 1964, 1967, 1972, 1973, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1982, 1984(2), 1985(2), 1986, 1989, 1993, 1994, 1996)

1 Foreign (Ireland, 10 Euro Cents (2003))

1 Elongated Penny

Thats a lot of canadian! I picked up by second bag of pennies yesterday, but haven't had a chance to look yet. I would love to see a foreign coin like yours.

I wonder how the elongated coin made it through the counter??

Gotta love those pennies :)

I average about 11-12 Canadian pennies per $25 worth... 2620 Canadian pennies so far this year, and 47 coins from other countries found in pennies as well.

The elongated penny is the right weight and only elongated in one direction so the width is right. That's my best guess as I have about 5 to 10 of them.
