I have an item that is in the classic art deco style of the big tall thin triangle/diamond shape that sort of looks like a flag. Like what you would see on an old movie marquee from the art deco days. There is a word for that shape or sculpture and I can't recall it. Anyone know? It's the tall narrow shapes shown in these pics:

It seems like it's on the tip of my tongue, but I can't say it. Any help?

Are you thinking of "step-down"?

No, thanks though. I've thought so hard about it that I wonder now if I'm imagining things about it ever even having a name. Maybe it's just "That tall art deco flag shape". Thanks. I was trying to describe the body of this original art deco/steampunk sculpture/lamp. "Pinnacle" maybe?

I'd call it "upswept shield" style. Sounds good anyway.

Man that's a nice lamp! How about "Machine Age" or "Mid Century Industrial"? There is another term right on the tip of my tongue . . . like, viscous, violent, mayhem, arrgh! The term is used for sharp metal sculptures.

BRUTALIST!

I don't know but don't forget to include "Industrial" along with Steampunk and Art Deco. That is one funky looking lamp. I mean that in a good way.

Thanks, I have all that in the title, but was working on an accurate description. Thanks for the comments on the sculpture/lamp, I created it. Staged the photograph in my living room. It's made from junk that I cut, welded, ground, painted, etc...

You have some pretty awesome talent.

Very nice work!!!

Yeah, besides the lamp itself, the staging is very professional and dramatic looking. Looks like a page out of a magazine.

Thanks! I've never sold anything like this before, but it has potential to bring high dollars I think, so I'm trying to do the best listing job that I can. I'll post a link to it when I get it listed.
