trying to get started in the fresno ca area

Start at Friant at broken bridge thats a good start, park on the wast side or east side of river and work down by or in river you will have a great time. see you soon there are a lot of us that go there. Gold is small but you will see other equipment and sluices and you will get gold dig down to clay and have fun.

I've been thinking about broken bridge to. It's just a little far from Merced. How did that gold get in that place? Is it left over from when the damn wasn't there?

Flood gold, after the winter it replinishes itself every year

thanks for the info guys im also thinking about making a sluice box and was wondering where was a good place to get miners moss

If i was going to start i would get something that is known is tested and you know will get gold dont have to spend a bunch of money, california sluice or rcm in clovis would be were i would start a sluice for around 40.00 bucks and go have fun, need a snuffer bottle , gold pan, two buckets, number 8 or 12 classifier. O and a shovel hahahah

Hey guys, although I spent 20 years dredging and prospecting, it was all north of I-80 in the Northern Mother Lode. Lately i've been GE'ing your areas.
Is the million-dollar rd. open to the public? and is that beautiful canyon next to it open for prospecting? Any other info is appreciated - thanks. The road is above Redinger Lake and crosses Stevenson crk.
