I am no expert, but have you ever seen it listed anywhere like ebay, Rubylane, etc.? I would think that rather than using a dollar value from some book, the insurance company might be more comfortable if you used recent sold prices from websites, auctions, etc. The markets are so screwy lately unless a book was published yesterday, the price has probably changed since then.

Oh yeah, nice bottle! Did you dig?

I had checked and rechecked, and all I could find were Worthpoint listings, which don't provide the selling price unless you are a member. This morning, I was provided an ebay link for one that sold 6 months ago for $ 117.00. Rare Blob Top Cobalt Blue Soda Bottle J. Cosgrove Charleston | eBay

I thought it was worth a bit more, but like you say, it is good documentation for the insurance company.

That's great you found something. It is really hard to do most times.

I know, stupid Worthpoint-you get all excited, "ooohh, I found it!" and then, "ugh-what the hell....I gotta join?" : )

Duh, I'm an idiot. I have a few bottle pricing books from ages ago sitting near me right now! (Not that it matters too much cause they are so old.) I found what could (probably is) be your bottle (no pics). Entry says, "J. Cosgrove 1866. Charlestown, blue, round 7 3/4" $32-38 but this book is from 1986, so the values are a bit off : ) It's appreciated-yay! Would have loved to have seen the price in say, 2007......

$117 seams kinda cheap...My brother sold a similar bottle for over $700 and it had a chip in the lip.
