Well today I headed out to the woods with BillT36, MikeWaz & Twistidd for some more fun. I have been looking on old areal pix of a certain area that I thought might have been a picnic grove back in the day so I talked the guys into going over and checking it out with me, I have never been there before and I really had no idea if it would even pan out. Well once we walked there, it was pretty much out in the middle of the woods and I thought maybe this was the place. Once there we sorta split up and off we went looking for any indication that this was the spot.

Well my very first target was an old glass salt shaker with just a tad bit of the metal cap still attached. I knew it was the place that I saw on the pix. In certain places you couldn't find any signal to save your life than in other spots all's you would get was iron targets. I was making my way over to a big oak tree when at the base I got a high silver scream but it was on the surface, I brushed away the leaves and like a 1/4 inch of dirt and when I looked I say a bracelet laying right on top of one of the tree roots. I picked it up and saw a name on the front, I thought it said "Marty"... Then I turned it over and saw "From Jim 12-25-48" and "sterling". I though oh god I found some long lost mushroom hunters love bracelet, later when I showed the guys Mike said its Mary... LOL I didn't clean it all off when I looked. ;D

After moving around a lot I got a penny target and soon realized that 2 more coins were in the hole! Today I found 4 mini pocket spills, 2 with 3 coins and 2 with 2 coins. My very last target was a bouncy penny signal and I almost skipped it as it was only 2 inches, well it turned out to be the biggest BSA pin/badge that I have found yet - its the size of a half dollar!!! I rubbed it with my thumb and instantly saw a ton of guilt still on it, then I turned it over and saw Pat. 1911. After that we headed over to a sports field where I found maybe 2 dollars in clad and the tackiest necklace pendant that I have ever saw, it was one of those tee shirts without the sleeves aka "wifebeaters" it was copper so I didn't take a pix of it. I had a great day I only wish we would of found more silver - sorry guys... :tongue3:
This was my 4th hunt for the season and I got my 3rd silver coin and if you count the bracelet then my 4th silver. :icon_pirat:

Ok here are my finds:

That's funny

Nice finds.. WTG on the silver,,,,,

But you gotta admit Marty is kind of hot....
Nice digs Fiend!

Het TF,
That sure is a cool pin.. Had a good time with you guys.
BillT.

Wow Kermit! That bracelet is awesome  Too bad there wasn't a last
name to track the owner. . . wouldn't that be a surprise for whoever lost it. . . or threw it away :)

The BS badge is very cool too

Take care,
Mark

Nice finds! I like the bracelet, it's more personal of a find. The badge is cool too. Maybe the scout leaders badge? HH
John

When I first found it I was hoping that it would of said "scout leader" or something. Its the bigest one that I have found so far. Its bigger than the 1928 IL Chauffeur's licence/badge that I found last year.

Man, I was stoked when I saw that bracelet. What a cool find! The only personalized peice of jewelry I've found was that crappy watch. Remember? In the woods when there was snow on the ground, near the camp. I'd love to find a Roosey one of these days!

Joe

Nice going TF..............I always enjoy your short films...

Nice finds again bud!
Saturday was your day for sure. There sure was a lot of snickering going on out there when you yelled out
"Marty from Jim". I think we all breathed a little easier after you cleaned it and saw it was Mary. Whew!!!
Mike

I think I'd be doing the happy dance and head back for some more pocket spills

Great finds TreasureFiend! That bracelet is dang nice... mostly because it's dated over 60 years old, but also because it's a nice hunk of silver. A '46 Rosie is like the best Rosie you can dig too! Awexome luck with all of those coins spills and the badge. Perfect hunt :)
