Trying to find local places to pan for gold near Newport Tennessee.

I'm wondering where I can go to just pan for some gold with a little shovel a classifier and my kids. I've seen pigeon forge Gatlinburg Little River in Townsend. And not to go near park boundaries. But what about the river following the sper ? Or better yet does ANYONE know of a few spots or 1 spot for me my w kids and my wife to go to. It's hard for me to get to coker creek which seems to be mostly owned and claimed unless you home hours. I have a hernia so I can't home 2 hours I can some just not like a pro haha. Just tired of buying paydirt

Bradwalker23- Welcome to TN! I usually recommend people contact their state department of mines and minerals (every state has one - the names differ). Tennessee's doesn't seem to offer much help. There's a brief introduction to gold panning, but you sound like you already know how to do it.
