nice large cent. I wish there was stuff like that around here where I live

Joe you are just killing it!! That is a real beauty you you deserve it that’s what happens when you put in the work. Congratulations on that LC

Wow! Are you just onto a few really good sites or have you really been putting in the hours?

Most of the stuff I’ve been finding lately is at the same 570 acre permission, just takes time hitting it from all angles (:

congradulations nice find

Wow! What a great find, Joe! Congratulations!

DB's that dip into the 1700's are always a nice find. You disrespect the ox knob by not mentioning it. :laughing7: I bet it sounded like another DB!

That's a keeper for sure. Really nice coin. Congrats.

Yeah it did and it was like 9 feet down, I called it a really bad name (;

Truly Awesome Large Cent! :notworthy:
How much have you done to it since it's been out of the ground?

Wow, spectacular find- stick with that program!

That’s how it came out of the ground basically, just knocked the dirt off and a pants wipe. I was amazed, DB’s usually come out looking like crap for me

Nice draped bust, keep at that place, must be fun there!

Very Impressive finds Joe-Dirt, way to go!

I am also a fan of the Equinox 800 and run modified settings to the factory default modes to enhance and highlight the targets I'm searching for. I like to change the tone breaks, tones, and tone volumes to make targets stand out. I like to run minimal discrimination and use these other methods to make desired targets stand out. I normally run my Equinox 800 in Multi frequency mode because that's what it's really good at. I use my other detectors in single frequency modes as that's what their good at. Do you ever operate you Equinox in single frequency modes, if so which frequencies do you use? What settings and search modes were you messing around with, if you don't mind sharing?

With the type of detecting I do currently in old hay and corn fields I run My 800 wide open , FE on 0 or 1, ground balance at 0 and 2 tones. I’ve been playing with this a little and it seems to get deep and “ grab” the targets better without digging too much junk and makes you go slow. It does get fooled on really thick square nails ( or any thick iron) Deep but works pretty good. My buddy I dig with has some good programs for deep mid tones but he’s been using the 800 much longer than me. I have both the 600 and 800, but I just got the 800 at the end of august and I like to keep it as simple as possible with what works for me. I’ll probably play with it more once the ground freezes and I can only hunt in the woods, but right now, most crops are down and we detect about 5 days per week so I don’t want to get too cute.

I do run my 600 in 4khz for small deep mid tones, but I haven’t really played with it too much.

Thank you for taking time to share your ideas and experience. I appreciate it very much.
