I am posting this a few days after the actual hunt but I have had lots going on.

Baldingboy and I decided to take a risk on the weather and go hunting Tuesday this past week. It rained most of the day but around 3:30 it blew off. BB must have done his go away rain dance.

We hunted a 100 year old home's yard. Found quite a bit of stuff.

Found 8 wheats and a silver rosie, a '53! Along with a key and a Keen Cutter pocket knife.

We then moved to a new location and I found another LEAD SOLDIER figure. I belive it Says Monoil 50 on the bottom and it is a hollow cast figure but I can't find it anywhere on the web.

I then found a Palmolive token with two holes drilled in it. I also found two little shield shaped items. No writing on the back but there are some grooves and three stars across the top. BB found a valve stem from a Harley Davidson motorcycle, wonder if these little shields are from a Harley?

Also found something marked Excelsior -------- Skid. . .

And a toy gun.

Anyway we had a blast and found quite a few good targets. My first time ever that I have found that many wheats in a hunt too and with silver to boot.

Thanks for looking.

Nice job, Larry, on all your finds, especially your new Wheatie record!!
You just never know how many finds you're going to make at an old home site. Sometimes it will produce, while other times it won't. Looks like you got a mix of everything.

Congrats!! And thanks for the props in your title!!

That was a great hunt,ME.The KeenKutter pocketknife is awesome.KeenKutter made a chopper,shredder,whatever for making saurkraut.Could be collectable.WTG!

Captn

I haven't EVEN come close to your record of finds but I have DOUBLED my wheat find this year and almost tripled it actually!!!!!

As for silver I have found four times as much silver this year as last and the year isn't even over!!!!!

It was a fun hunt and I found a lot of different good stuff.

You're doing better, Larry, because you have more time under your belt with "The Beast".
Keep learning as you go out on each hunt. The areas/locations that we both hunt at are completely different, so the types of finds (and qunatity of) will vary also.

You're having a good year. Keep it up!!

Impressive pile ME. I've seen that excelsior thin before some where, just have to remember......
Oh crap, I forgot what I was suppose to remember......

Larry, you & BB are pulling out some cool pieces! Just think of ALL
the cool stuff you'd find at CTH-II if you'd be coming. . . (I really hope you can
make it out there. . . but, we understand with your anniversary and all :))

Take care buddy,

Those are some awesome finds, ME. Glad you and BB were able to get out and enjoy yourselves.

 RR

Gracious...there were more goodies there then you told me! Congrats! So glad you got out and had a good time! Now do it more often! ~hugs~

Do the two shields have holes in the "flange" that sticks out the back? I have one like that "someplace"... thought maybe it went in a leather rig... horse related??

MonkeyBoy

Yes they do have the piece of metal that sticks out the back and then there is a hole in it. BB And I thought since he found a Harley Davidson Valve stem from a very early bike that maybe these came from that as well.

No Idea what they are but they are still cool.

Wow I like the WW1 action figuer. It looks broken but thats a pretty rare find.
