Trouble With White's Bullseye 120 Pinpointer

I only been out a few times but my pinpointer does not seem to be working right. Don't know if something is wrong with pinpointer or what. Everytime I go to use the the pinpoint as soon as the probe end touches the dirt or something else it beeps once. The last time I used it it would start to beep constant even when I took it out of the hole and held it up until I turned it off. Is the pinpinter faulty? Please Help Before I send it back (It's still under 1 year warrantee).

If it is the old style one the sensitivity needs to be readjusted, open the cover and you will see a green (i think) adjustment pot, hold down the trigger and adjust the screw back and forth till you understand how it operates. Lowering the sens will also affect the pinpointers ability to find metal, too low and you get no depth, too high and it will false when wiggled or when it comes in contact with the soil.

Hope that helps, oh yeah, is it the new or old model? The sens adjustment for the new one is on the outside of the case...if it is the new one and you have tried all this, don't hesitate to send it back or trade it in for a new one...

Thanks, It did turn out to be an adjustment inside the the unit. Just a turn of the adjustment screw did it. It was set too high.
Thanks Again
