Trigger guard ID help. Several years back I found two trigger guards from an old 1700’s site. The larger one on the right, very much complete, appears to be from an 1808 Springfield musket.

The smaller one on the left isn’t quite as complete and not sure the trigger guard size would allow for an adult finger to fit into the spacing, unlike the larger one? Any thoughts or guidance as to a referencial website to help in identifying this small one?

Many thanks,

Bill

Cool finds! Sometimes it's hard to tell because some gun makers bought guards. butt plates and ramrod guides from a supplier?
