Some new land has been harvested & we are on the Hunt for a Roman Villa.
First field didn't get much other than a poor William III (1690s) Silver Sixpence which has been bent into a Love Token.

Second Field had loads of modern rubbish but did get a US Great Seal Button.

Last field I wanted to try near where we had some Roman stuff last year. I got the 3 Roman Coins & Dad got a 1620s Royal Farthing. I finished with a good buckle.

So tomorrow try again but if we don't have much luck we will be back to the productive area where we had the Viking strapend.

Very difficult this time of year - try the unknown or go with the good area you know???

I am never tired of hearing or getting hammered.

Man, that's a tough decision. From what I've seen, everywhere you go, you find some of the greatest relics. Again, some super nice finds!

Great finds as usual. Try the unknown place, you can always return to the known one.

I love that pea pod belt buckle.

You and your dad are doing great! Try the new place!

Congratulations!

Ridley

Must be paradise to hunt there. The old country: So much history, to unearth. Wish I could be there. “Is that an old wine top?”

Awesome finds Crusader! I found one of those 1690ish William silver coins bent into a love token when I was in England. I;m about to give up hunting for the Celtic/Roman relics and turn to park piracy and hit the Tot lots, LOL. HH, Mike

I agree with you & Ridley. I always like the excitment of new land. However that dies after a few hours & my mind wonders back to where all the goodies are.

So this morning will try 1 new field whilst my Dad is next door on an area of a field we haven't searched. If no good signs, then go back to where we know to boost Moral. :)

Nice finds Crusader. What was the USA seal button doing in England anyway ??? You are definately bringing a new flavour to this great site, keep up the good work.

God bless
Peter

Nice finds! Hey -- do you know anything about the buckle on the left in the second photo? (The one with the piece of a statue's white porcelain arm in the middle of it.) I just dug up the same buckle on Friday. It's a nice, heavy piece, too.
