Interesting, it reminds me of the prisms used in Sherman tank periscopes. The actual size of the prisms used in them is 5 3/4" long x 2" wide x 1" high. These are silvered on the 2" wide side.

Quartz crystal prism. Quartz spark against a knife blade. If part of a chandelier, perhaps the end where it connected broke off. But quartz for sure. Tiny drilled hole at one- or both end(s)?
Hate to be a freak, but narrowly missed being involved in an accident on my way home the other day. Guy ahead of me texting, drifted into oncoming traffic. It happens. I know you were going slow. Still, it was ugly- even at slower than highway MPH.

Well now that you mentioned you found shipwreck pieces in the same area, I would say it is most likely a ship or boat deck prism. These would be installed into the deck in order to shed light below deck. They work remarkably well for that purpose too. Cool find for sure!
