Georgia. 20150429_013501.jpg1429982975494.jpgIt has metal properties, it may have corrosion or be inside of something like a bone, or possibly a carving, kind of resembles an Indian profile?? Gently cleaned it, when metal started appearing I stopped. Since I've cleaned something too rigorously in the past...any ideas or cleaning suggestions? Oh, One edge of the object is sharp possibly serrated. I'm adding more pics in hope of some feedback.

Well after pondering this piece for about 4 days, please if anyone agrees or knew all along, let me know...
......but I think it's an Indian head coin. ??!!

You didn't mention if it is heavy for its size. If so, it could be a piece of native gold (you do live in gold country, after all), or a gold coin, ring, etc. that has been in a fire.

Chalcopyrite or Pyrite, a worn piece. If it is a mineral, citric acid will clean it.

Why do you think it is an indian head coin? Can you see details not apparent in the photo? I see you edited your post stating that you think you figured it out. Can you share with us?

Northern Georgia is well known for pyrites. As EU suggests it could be a Chalcopyrite as well.
