Reminds me of a time, a fellow treasure hunter on here, and I, was in Arkansas, Southern Ozarks, searching for a KGC treasure.. He had been there before, and showed me a bunch of old Beech trees with names and symbols carved from in the past.. Pike was one name..
It was determined that no treasure, still existed.. It had been moved, if it was there to begin with.. Who knows!

Well i am determined to find out what it means and im doing a great job figuring it out i just keep going back and dissecting the tree and the area and its near a very big mining operation which took place in 1858
So who knows, all i know is i am Seriously having a Blast and getting out in nature and being a Forest detective is Exciting!!
Plus down the way from the one im detecting i already found 2 civil war buttons, buckle of some sort it looks like a horse buckle and suspenders that are in perfect condition and the buckles still attached..:)
And a bunch of other finds but man im pumped and i feel 100% confident that i will be unearthing a treasure, relic, trove, cache lol
🙏
I have found lots of coins not in this spot but i want the rare old ancient babies jus sayin.
Like us all🫶🏻
Thank you for takin the time to reply i sure appreciate it kind Sir

Granted, I don't know a lot about tree markings. But I gotta say those images look like a lightning strike to me. First thing to establish is the age of the tree. If it isn't old enough to have been around during, or shortly after the Civil War--roughly 150-160 years old, it's not likely to be KGC treasure. But if you can establish the age of the tree you can narrow down what type of treasure it might be pointing to, and who did it. You will also have to establish how old the tree was when those marking appeared, and how they would have changed over the subsequent years to look like what they do now. In other words, if the markings appeared on the tree when it had a 5" trunk, would they look like what we see in the pictures? Looks like there might be a nice burl there, so even if there isn't any gold or silver, burl is usually worth something. Thing is, you have to cut it out before you know what it looks like.

One with the square/rectangular hole may be a former bee tree.
Robbed of it's comb.
Used one for a landmark as a kid.

The rest I can't tell anything more than woodpecker holes and stress cracks. Maybe some fungus on aspen looking one.

Lightning was mentioned earlier. I've seen results from a fine burn line down a trunk , to long (several feet) large splinters 2-3 inches thick thrown several feet.
