I found a carving on a tree in N Ala. It is of an Indian head that has three feathers on its head and three tears coming out of one eye.Above the Indian head is a carving of a Spanish helmet.Under the Indian head is a carving that says I (picture of a heart)Jesse. This is very old because it is about twenty feet up on this tree. There are several treasure stories about this area of Ala.Does anyone have any idea of what the carvings mean?

try treasure hunter university.com i thinkor net .org good info on symbolls

The "I love Jesse" carving sounds unrelated to the other carving and could have been put there later by someone else.

There might be something to that indian/spanish carving. Research it well. 8)

take this for what you will, but maybe it can help in some way, i work in the surveying/forestry field. carvings in a tree will not "climb" a tree, a tree grows outward, so it gets wider, but grows upward from its terminal buds only, so it will grow taller, but scars in its cambium layer "carvings" wont climb upward with age.

Bucknasty is right about the carvings not climbing. Sounds like maybe someone standing on horseback may have carved it. Just for your reference, a couple of Union payrolls were robbed in Ala. and attributed to Jesse James and other confederate soldiers. I would check somewhere between three soldiers varas and three chains from the tree. Also the double occurance of 3 on the tree maybe pointing you to a triangle of rocks, trees, or other markers. :)

someones doing their homework....reference compliments of floyd manns website on the kgc .......................''ON MARCH 11, 1881, A U.S. ARMY PAYMASTER CARRIED $5,000 PAYROLL IN HIS SADDLE BAGS AS HE RODE ALONG TOWARD THE TENNESSEE RIVER. SUDDENLY, THREE MASKED BANDITS ON HORSES JERKED THE SADDLEBAGS FROM HIS HORSE. THE THREE BANDITS WERE JESSE JAMES, DICK LIDDIL AND BILL RYAN. THIS INCIDENT TOOK PLACE NEAR MUSCLE SHOALS.

DE KALB COUNTY:

JESSE JAMES USED THE AREA OF DAWSON FOR A HIDEOUT. LOCATED ON SAND MOUNTAIN NOT FAR FROM COLLINSVILLE. JESSE CACHED SOME OF HIS OUTLAW TREASURE SOMEWHERE IN THIS AREA.
